Give your children empathy to make them feel loved unconditionally.
When we give our children empathy (ie. sympathy for their feelings) when they are sad or hurting (rather than try to reassure them or minimise their feelings), they are much more likely to feel accepted and to feel loved unconditionally.
We will be publishing an article about the importance of empathy on Best of Parenting next week.
Inspirational quote:
“Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant with the weak and wrong. Sometimes in your life, you will have been all of these.” ― Gautama Buddha
